Words can hurt people in several ways. One being, it can seriously affect their self esteem. That person may feel that he/she is useless. He/she may think that every bad thing that happened was because of him/her.

As an example…. Let's say you were fat. How would you feel if your parents and friends and others all told you that you are really fat and you eat all the stuff kept at home or whatever? How would you feel if someone mocked you just because you're fat? How would you feel if someone blames you for something someone else or you did just cuz you're fat? Think about this. If it was me, I would probably feel so down and hurt. That person could even be a bit depressed if not more.
