How can you apply pragmatism as a future teacher?

According to Pragmatism a teacher is useful, even though not indispensable. The position of the teacher is of a guide and adviser. He is the helper and prompter. He should teach “his pupils to think and act for themselves to do rather than to know, to originate rather than to repeat.”
