Answer:

Renewable energy should not be confused with alternative energy. The difference is that alternative energy specifically avoids fossil fuels such as oil, natural gas, and coal. ... But it is a source of biomass renewable energy in that new trees can be grown. Hydroelectric power is both renewable and alternative.

Answer:

In classical physics, pre-relativity era matter and energy are considered separate entities. Hence there was a separate conservation laws for matter and energy. It was said matter can’t be created nor destroyed. Also energy can’t be created nor destroyed but can be converted from one form to another. Now imagine a `simple’ phenomenon. An atom absorbs light (energy of the photon) and gets to an excited state. Now the excited atom is just a matter with few properties different from the original atom in the ground state. But it is a matter while the light(energy) is gone. Here is an example of energy converting to matter. How do we say that the excited atom has more matter. The way to quantify matter is to find its mass. It so happens that the excited atom indeed has a higher mass. If the difference in mass is dm then the energy of the photon that excited it will turn out to be dm c^2 which is given by relativity. Here is one place where you have converted energy into matter.
