We know that diluted or pure water is odourless, colour less and tasteless.
So first we will smell it. If it gives any kind of odour then it is polluted.
Alternatively we can check the colour of water. If it shows any colour then it is polluted.
We can use litmus paper or other indicators to find out whether the water is acidic or basic because many factories leaves acid or base in water bodies.
