Weigh the cylinder empty.
Fill the cylinder with the material till certain valume. Weihg it again with the material
After substract the mass of the cylinder empty form the mass of the clinder filled and we otain the mass of the material. Divide the mass by the volumen and we have the density.
If the shape of the material do not fill the cylinder (completely till the establish volume) you wiil have to calculat the free volume and substract it from the volume occupied to obtain the real and actual volume of the material. Irregular shapes Will cause void spaces which we have to determine (total void space).
Or if the material can be melt and then solidifies if Will give a more exact volume
