A non-contact force is a force which acts on an object without coming physically in contact with it. The most familiar non-contact force is gravity, which confers weight. In contrast a contact force is a force applied to a body by another body that is in contact with it. eg; like boxing, pushing.

Explanation:-

Non contact forces operate at a distance - like gravity, two magnets attracting/repelling, or two charged balloons repelling. The distance over which the force operates is readily observable.

Contact forces are transferred when things “touch”. Unfortunately- things never really do touch. If you push something, the electrons in the molecules in your skin get close to the electrons in the object you are pushing These electrons repel each other. You think you are touching the object - it is really a non contact force operating over a short distance that you cannot readily observe.

The difference is nill because the two are really the same- there are no contact forces.

Answer:

force applied on a body by another body when both are in physical contact with each other is called a contact force, example a man pushing box, while, a force applied on a body by another body when both are at a distance is called non contact force, example a magnet attracting iron pins.
