Phrases :-

  • does not contain subject and predicate.
  • can not convey complete thought.
  • cannot stand alone

Eg - near the wall, on the roof, at the door etc.

Clauses :-

  • contains subject and predicate.
  • conveys complete thought.
  • can stand alone.

Eg - He laughed, They went to a temple etc.
