A contact force requires a connection between the interacting objects. Examples: tension, spring and other elastic forces, the normal force, friction, fluid drag, human forces. A field force can occur over a distance, and is thought of as a field carrying the force information (in particle physics there are more precise theories). Examples are gravity, electrostatics, and magnetism. In truth, all contact forces are locally field forces. All contact forces are fundamentally electromagnetism forces. It is impossible for two humans to fully touch each other. Their outer electron layers repel when they are close enough. And no you cannot use this as a defense in the court of law, you know what we mean when we say touch
