PLAIN MIRROR
- They're plain in nature i.e, their surface is flat with a very smooth texture.
- They're plain in nature i.e, their surface is flat with a very smooth texture. The images formed on such mirrors are erect with an exact copy of the object displayed.
- Such mirrors are used for purposes such as seeing one's reflection, having patterns formed through multiple reflections such as in a kaleidoscope .
CONCAVE MIRROR
- These mirrors are curved in nature . They have a depression on them in the inward direction.
- The images formed on these mirrors are much changed than the actual object i.e, much shrinked in size than the actual object and are quite a times curved too.
- Such mirrors are used as side mirrors in vehicles for seeing a large area of anything at a time as these mirrors because of their inward curved nature are able to reflect a larger area of anything at a time.
CONVEX MIRROR
- These mirrors too are curved in nature but they have a depression towards the outwards direction.
- The images formed on these mirrors are much zoomed than the actual size of the object.
- Such mirrors are used as front covering up mirrors in torches, and are also used in magnifying glasses and a few lenses in order to get magnified images.
