how can you draw the tangent to a circle at a given point when the centre of the circle is not known

2.draw 2 chords intersecting each other at a point
3.draw perpendicular lines to those cords
4.extend the perpendicular line where the 2 lines intersect each other at a point
5. intersecting point is the centre of a circle

Answer:

1)Draw a circle of any radius O as a centre on the white paper.

2) Take a point P outside the circle of the paper as shown in figure.

3)Join PO.

4)Now taking P and O as a centre and radius more then half PO, draw arcs on both sides of the line segment PO to intersect each other, as shown in figure.

5)Let these arcs interest each other at X and Y and join XY, as shown in figure.

6) lap XY intersect PO and the point M, which is the mid point of PO.

7) Taking M as a centre and MO as a radius, draw a circle as shown in figure.

8)Let the circle intersect the given circle at the point Q and R.

9)Now, join PQ and PR as shown in figure.
