Hey Mate...

Drop the egg from a height of 1 mm. Or … and this is my final answer … drop the egg in wet concrete! Dropping the egg from 1/4 of an inch will cause no cracks on the surface. Also, you may provide enough layers of padding to the egg to avoid any crack.
