How can you drop two eggs the fewest amount of times, without them breaking?
Answers
Easy!!
This is done on any floor, the highest or the lowest. Simply drop the egg from one inch above your foot and it will not break.
Explanation:
If you want to know what is the maximum height the egg can be thrown with only 2 eggs breaking in the fewest amount of tries, then it is possible.
First lets take a simple scenario,
Imagine there are 10 floors, each on which a rare egg is placed. Each of the egg is very precious and gets more rarer as you go more above from the ground (The egg on the 1st floor is the least rare and the egg on the tenth floor is the most expensive).
You want to steal the one which can survive a fall of the height of the floor to your car below.
You have 2 more exactly same eggs which are duplicates.
Now, how do you find out which egg can be taken out.
Obviously you cant test on each floor as the guards below will notice something suspicious.
The maximum number of tries required is 4.
You will be throwing the eggs on Floor 4, 7, 9, 10
If the egg breaks on 4th floor you will check the other egg on 1st, 2nd and 3rd floor.
If the egg breaks at 7th floor you will check 5th and 6th floor. (You have already thrown it once at 4th floor so this is your second throw)
If the egg breaks on 9th floor check the 8th one as well.
And if it doesn't break on 9th you can try it on the 10th floor.
Now using this you can easily solve you questions with any number of floors.
I know it is a very lengthy answer but it is the simplest I can tell !!!
