Reactivity refers to the tendency of chemical substances to react with others. The more reactive a substance is the more reactivity it will have.

The reactivity of an element depends on its electronic configuration and the number of electrons in the outer most shell.

The electrons deficient elements have a tendency to achieve a fully filled outer shell and thus react more easily. Whereas elements like noble gases have already fulfilled outer shell and show little or no reactivity.
