A) The compound reacts with ethanol in presence of an acid to form a sweet smelling compound ’B'.

The compound is Ethanoic Acid (CH3COOH).

B) The chemical equation is

CH3COOH + C2H5OH = CH3COOC2H5 + H2O.

C) We can get back A from B by hydrolysis in the presence of an acid or base.

D) The process is called as Saponification.

The chemical equation as follows is

CH3COO2H5 + H20 ----- CH3COOH + C2H5OH.

dear plzz name the compounds.....

Anyways......

A is ethanol(C2H6O)
B is ethanoic acid(CH3COOH)
C is CH3COOC2H5 an ester
Reaction involved
CH3COOH + C2H6O gives CH3COOC2H5
And,
CH3COOC2H5 + NaOH gives C2H4+CH3COONa

hope it helps....

plzz mark me as brainliest my dear !!!
