How can you get distance of an object from its distance time graph

Distance-Time graph of a particle represents distance travelled on y-axis and time on x-axis. To find distance travelled upto time t,

1) Draw a line parallel to y-axis which pass through (t,0).

2) Mark the point of intersection of this line with the distance time graph, say (t,s)

3) Draw a line parallel to x-axis passing through this point (t,s).

4) Mark the point of intersection of this line with y-axis i.e. (0,s).

The distance from origin to this point i.e s is the distance travelled.
