how can you identify a precipitate from a chemical equation if the states are not mentioned? ​

First by understand what all products are formed. Then identify the states of product. Also check under what circumstances the reaction is taking place i.e, whether it is heat, light or electricity, or

any dehydrating agent, oxidising agent, catalyst.

( You must study most of the reaction. It will help you to identity it.)

eg: Na2SO4 + BaCl2 ---> BaSO4 + NaCl

Here the product BaSO4 is a precipitate as this is the example of precipitation rection.
