How can you increase the frequency of a stringed musical instrument

In order to increase the frequency of a stringed musical instrument , the string of the instrument has to be tightened.This will increase the tension in the string and thus will help in increasing the frequency.Further, frequency is inversely proportional to length of the string.So, the length of the string has to be reduced in order to make frequency higher.Again, the rate of vibration of thicker strings is low.Thats why if the string is thin , the rate of vibration will increase.In other words the frequency will increase.
