Steps to insert a column in a table:

  1. Click anywhere in the row/column, adjacent to which you want to add the new row(s) /column(s).
  2. The table tools tab appears on the Ribbon. Click on the Layout tab under it.
  3. In the rows and columns group click on the Insert left or Insert Right button to insert a column and click on the Insert above or Insert below button to insert a row .

Method 2:

  • Click on the dialogue box launcher button in the rows and columns group.The insert cells dialogue box appears and select the required option.Click on Ok.
