We heard about metal carbonyl compounds a lot..And their synthesis also.

Now using pure NICKEL(Ni) metal in the mixture at room temperature will remove the CO molecules by forming Ni(CO)4 molecule..and H2 molecules will be free to extract..this is it..

Ni + 4CO = Ni(CO)4 , At Room Temperature
