Electrolysis is far by the easiest way to obtain hydrogen at home but there are other methods you could use.
You could react hydrochloric acid with metals like Zn . Hydrogen gas will be evolved but do avoid contact with acid during this procedure. Also be cautious of excess heat evolved in this experiment
You could react sodium hydroxide with aluminium . This reaction will produce hydrogen gas, sodium hydroxide is found in drain clog removers and for aluminium you could use aluminium foils. This procedure is highly exothermic , hence use a glass bottle and not a plastic one to collect the gas

We can get hydrogen gas by adding aluminium metal to the NaOH solution as: 2Al (s) + 6NaOH (aq) → 3H2 (g) + 2Na3AlO3 (aq)(sodium aluminate).
