Matter can be defined as anything that has mass and occupies space

Fill air in a balloon, it occupies space in it. This shows that air occupies space.

Now take a balloon filled with air and an empty balloon on a weighing scale. The side with the filled balloon would be heavier than the other side. Thsi proves that air has weight/mass.

Hence proved that air is a matter
