Answer:

Xylem is one of the two types of transport tissue in vascular plants, phloem being the other. The basic function of xylem is to transport water from roots to stems and leaves, but it also transports nutrients

Explanation:

After sometime red streaks appear in the stem and veins of leaves become red. If a transverse section is cut through the root stem and leaf, the tissue that has been stained is xylem tissue. This shows that water moves up the root into the stem and leaves in the xylem tracheids and vessels.

{\large\orange{\mathbb\fcolorbox{yellow}{maroon}{Let's do a experiment :  - }}}

  • Take a jar /bottle and fill it with water .
  • In this water mix ink (blue / black colour)
  • Keep a cut plant with its stem.

So, here you can understand the root pressure that root will pull water by its pressure, so you can see, water transport through Xylem.

and then you have keep this cup plant with stem and mixed water then put into the bottle.

  • You have to wait for couple of hours

☆ After this you can see the Colour of stem has to be changed, and it will show Stem stem Colour change into Blue.

In this experiment you can understand that blue colour comes by root pressure as you know it by the pressure of, root plant take water from soil and then it's supply to whole plants of the plant body , so this water transported by xylem so the blue ink colour also passed by root xylem and it transported to the stem as you have seen because the stem is already cut to , so the colour has changed of the stamp is in blue.
