How can you say blood is a fluid connective tissue and explain constituents with the sketch?

Blood is a fluid connective tissue which helps in the transportation of absorbed nutrients from food in the body. Due to the presence of haemoglobin it is red in colour and it helps in the protection of the body from microorganism.

Composition of blood:-

1. Blood cells:- They are 45% in blood.

(a) RBCs-Red blood cells or erythrocytes

(b) WBCs-White blood cells or leucocyte.

(c) Platelets or thrmbocytes.

2. Plasma:-

•Water-90%

•Protein-albumin, globulin, fibrinogen.

•Organic materials-glucose

•Inorganic materials-hydrogen, oxygen, carbon, nitrogen.

Blood is known as a connective tissue because it connects various body tissues and organs together by bringing the oxygen, hormones and various nutrients.

Also, all the connective tissue originate from the mesodermal layer of the embryo and as blood also originate from the same, thus it is considered as the connective tissue.
