how can you say sugar is solid and water is liquid


Alondra: Because sugar has definite mass shape and volume and its molecules are tightly packed so its solid and water does not have definite shape mass and volume so its a liquid

As the molecules of sugar are very tightly packed, we can say that it is in solid state whereas the molecules of water are very loosely packed, it is a liquid.
