burning of a substance is an irreversible change because as a irreversible change is defined as a change from which the substance cannot be brought back in its original form in the similar way burning of a substance or burning of a candle will not give you back the original substance

A substance which can have deformation force is said to be a Reversible process but in a Irreversible process it doesn't have deformation force so burning of a substance can't regain itself in opposite direction so it is a perfect example for Irreversible process
