Cells make up the smallest level of a living organism such as yourself and other living things. The cellular level of an organism is where the metabolic processes occur that keep the organism alive. That is why the cell is called the fundamental unit of life.

Answer:

Cells are the basic, functional, structural unit of life as they are the building blocks of our system. In other words, they are the first building block of our whole body

Explanation:

Starting from Cell, we go to tissues which are made up of one type of cell and perform a specific function

Further we move on to organs from tissues and then onto the whole organ system which is basically your whole body.

Now what has formed all these? where did we start from?

it all from a tiny, microscopic cell which made up such a wonderful structure

hence its is the fundamental and basic unit of life itself
