How can you say that displacement is vector but it doesn't gives the direction of motion​

I think you are studying in class 9th and learning vectors for the first time.It is a common question that arises in our mind that what is the purpose of knowing whether the object is moving in a particular direction.

In a one dimensional perspective ( that we study in class 9th) it has little role. Whether you do a problem by considering the direction or not, it doesn't affect the answer.

But if you analyse two dimensional motion. Direction as well as the angle between two vectors are important and we can't neglect that. Ofcourse displacement mentions direction. In one dimensional motion we usually neglect the direction and consider only the magnitude but in two and three dimensional motions direction is important.

If you can't understand what I said, don't worry, you will understand in further classes.
