How can you say that elections in india are free and fair and democratic?

India is a democratic country and the elections are conducted here after every 4 or 5 years .... the Election commission is responsible for the elections which take place in our country. It ensures the free and fair elections in India .

d. India is the largest democracy in the World and has based its democratic structure on the principle of Universal Adult Franchise which guarantees right to vote to all that is everyone has one vote irrespective of caste creed , religion or sex and every vote has equal value.
e. Independent Body - There is an independent body , like Election commission to conduct free and fair elections
f. The country has multi party system providing ample choice to the voters, it allows for space to political opposition to function, to criticise offer fair chance to all parties to win and loose. It has ensured that no government is elected for life and hence become tyrannical.
g. Election commission also checks the use malpractices and ensures that candidate preferred by the people should get elected. It timely takes cognizance of the incidents of booth capturing, bribing or coaxing voters, using money and muscle power.
