How can you say that the ghost had some human characteristics in his behaviour?

The ghost of the novel 'The Canterville ghost' is very human in most respects. he displays almost all the human emotions like fear, anger, disappointment etc.

He is dead scared of the twins and is very irritated by the unafraid attitude of the Otis family.  he was very much scared when he encountered another 'ghost' on his way to scare the family. He reminisces about the good old times when he was able to scare people out of their wits..

Apart from his mental frame his physique is very human. when he falls down he gets hurt. When the twins scare him he is so scared that he is down with fever. 

Towards the end when he interacts with Virginia, he is very much human and begs her to rescue from his present pathetic state. On the whole the ghost is very much human
