how can you separate mixture of sugar, sand and iron nails

first use a magnet to separate iron nails then add water to the mixture of sugar and sand then stir it properly then surgery will be dissolved in water and sand doesn't now by using filter paper separate the sand from surgar solution . now heat the surgar solution and separate the sugar either by using distillation or by using evaporation
