Hey dear ♡
Here is the answer, you needed..
Insoluble substances are separated from Liquid by these processes..
⦿Sedimentation followed by decantation
◆Sedimentation- In this process, the insoluble particles or waste are made to sink down in the container containing the liquid.
Here, the liquid containing insoluble components are kept in such a way that the liquid won't be disturbed and the particles will get sank at the bottom.
Example- Obtaining clear water from the mixture of muddy Water
◆Decantation- This process can only be done after sedimentation. In decantation, the clear water which is left after sedimentation, is collected without disturbing the insoluble components. Decantation is also used in rivers, the mud particles in river are made to sink at the bottom of the river by alum, so that the clear water can be collected for human use.
⦿Filteration- In this process, The mixture of insoluble particles from liquid is removed through a filter paper. The insoluble particles will be left over the filter paper and the clear water is made to pass through is easily. This is the most easiest and less time consuming process than Sedimentation followed by decantation.
Example- Tea left overs are separated through a strainer.
○NOTE- Clear water is not same as Pure water. Clear water only seemed to be clear but can be full of impurities.
