First, water must be added to the mixture. Salt and ammonium chloride will dissolve. Then the solution must be filtered. The residue will be sand. Then, the filtrate must be heated. The water will first evaporate. Then, ammonium chloride will sublime and is the can be collected. The residue is common salt.

first add water to dissolve all contents. now filter the solution using filter paper the residue formed will be the sand now the remaining solution should be heated eventually water evaporates and ammonium chloride and salt will there now heat the content covered with upside down conical flask. the ammonium chloride will sublime and deposit on conical flask and we get salt left.
