Electromagnetic (EM) waves are simultaneous and synchronized oscillations of electrical and magnetic fields and are characterized by using their frequency (f). The EM waves are carried by photons which might be the discrete packets of energy. Those photons have both the energy (E) and the momentum (p) which are related to the frequency (f) and pace of wave.

The strength of EM wave is given as,

E = hf

where, h is the Planck's constant.

The momentum of photons of the wave is given as,

p = E/c

where, c is the speed of light.
