take a small quantity of a food item for testing if the food you want to test is a solid you first need to make paste of it or powder it grind or mash a small quantity of the food item put some of this in a small test tube add 10 drops of water to it and shake the test tube.

now using a dropper add two drops of solution of copper sulphate and ten drops of caustic soda to the test tube shake well and let the test tube stand for a few minutes wht did u see? did the contents of the test tube turn violet a violet colour indicates presence of proteins in the food item mark as brainliist and thank me pls

What you need :

1 ) 2% Copper sulphate solution ( dissolve 2g copper solphate in 100 ml in water.

2 )  10% Sodium hydroxide solution ( dissolve 10g Sodium hydroxide in 100 ml in water.

3 ) Test Tube , 4 ) Dropper , 5 ) Two breakers.

How to do :

1 ) Take some food in test tube.

2 ) Add two drops of copper sulphate and ten drops of Sodium hydroxide solution.

3 ) Shake well and keep the test tube in a stand for few minutes.

4 ) Observe for any change in the colour of the material .

5 ) If the colour of the material turns violet colour.

What you see : The food sample turns into violet colour.

What you learn : Proteins are present in the give food sample.
