Hello friend!
Here's ur answer!
Chloro -fluoro carbon enters the altmosphere because of their excessisive use in solvent, aerosol, sprays, propellants, refrigerant,and blowing agents for plastic foams.
Chloro- fluoro carbon are decomposed by ultra - violet rays to chlorine which is produced in its atomic form.
CF2Cl2 ----ultraviolet rays---------> CF2Cl +Cl
The free radical (Cl) reacts with ozone and chlorine monoxide is formed.
Cl + O3 ------>ClO + O2
This causes depletion of ozone and chlorine monoxide further reacts with atomic oxygen to produce more free radicals of chlorine.
ClO +O---->Cl + O2
Again this free radical destroys ozone and the process continues giving rise to large scale ozone depletion.
