An educated person doesn’t have to be factual, or rational, or scientific, or logical in the least. They can be blind, crass, and utterly despicable.
An uneducated person can be the complete opposite of all things above.
Education doesn’t teach you how to be logical from scrap, it builds on those skills we already possess (most of the time). An uneducated person can possibly teach you more than an educated one can.
Fact of the matter is, an educated person and an uneducated person can actually balance equally on two scales simply because it is not the knowledge you obtain, but what refinement you bring to your character with it that bring about the higher thinking and broader perspectives that are supposed to define those with huge degrees and a long list of qualifications. Sadly, this is not always the case.
It is true that a literate society advances faster than an uneducated one, but that does by no means define the people that live in it. You could be really advanced and have a library of books at home, but if you still act like a person who has spent their life living like a savage, then you are not ‘educated’. An uneducated person whose beliefs are formed by careful deliberation and consideration - because unlike what many seem to think, uneducated people are not, in fact, incapable of thinking - deserve a hundred times over to be called educated, instead.
The difference between an uneducated person and an educated person is what you make it to be: a big difference, or none at all.
