How citizens contribute to the success of democracy
Answers
Answer:
Under a democratic republic, a good citizen is one who practices democratic humility. A good citizen abhorres and admonishes others who are not humble and are arrogant and individualistic. The idea of a rugged individual is a form of opposition to democracy and obstructive of humility. All of today’s best democracies will agree with that assessment of a good democratic citizen.
Of course the above implies that only leaders who conform to those ideals are elected and those leaders who fail to comply are removed from public office.
The above points also imply that a good citizen is open minded and practices critical thinking and expresses their criticisms of antiquated or out of date processes that need correcting, removal, or improvements.
