different forms of organisms have evolved during the course of evolution. classification deals with grouping of these organisms into groups and subgroups based on their similarities and differences. the more characteristics any two species have in common more closely they are related. in other words, they will have a more recent ancestor.
thus, classification helps tracing the evolutionary relationship between the organisms. hence classification and evolution are interlinked

Classification of organisms is based on proportionate ( relative ) similarities and differences among organisms. resemblances in organisms are because they have arisen from a common ancestor and differences in them are due to adaptations to different types of environment. as the organisms can be graded in order of increasing complexity it refers(indicates) at the concept of evolution.
