Computer networks are classified into three pats according to area how it occupied such as
01.LAN ( Local area network OR Small size network)
The interconnecting of more than one computer in single building or single room or campas is called local area network. It is called small size network because it occupie smaller geographical area or limitted graphical area. The data transfer rate of LAN is heigher than MAN and WAN.
02.MAN (Metropolitical Area Network)
MAN is interconnection of more than one computer in single city. It is collection of no. of LAN. It is called as medium size network because it is bigger than LAN but smaller than WAN. The network are connected by using telephone satellite.
03.WAN ( Wide Area Network)
The interconnection of more than one MAN in a one region or state or country is called as Wide Area Network. It is called large size network because it is larger than LAN and MAN.
