Relationships influence people and their well-being in both positive as well as negative ways. The following are points discussed for both constructive and destructive influence:

a)Sometimes friends may influence you both ways. If anybody encourages you to do a negative thing and you are influenced by it, it will always lead you to destruction eventually.

b)  Relationships that let you grow as a person are healthy. A happy home is a healthy home. Children whose parents constantly fight and there is violence involved, show poor growth physically and mentally.

c) Depression and stress decrease appetite and make you spoil your health.

d) Constant humiliation by a friend, a family member or a teacher affects your confidence. Such youngsters resort to suicides, drugs or alchoholism when they are unable to cope with the situation.

e) Optimistic and happy people around you boost your spiritual and physical energy. Statistics show that productivity in academics, career and other activities increase when you are stress-free, happy and confident.

Influence of Constructive and Destructive Relationships

Relationships influence a man/woman’s life phenomenally at the initial stages. Good relationships with family members, friends, and later on with spouse make a man/woman’s life heaven; on the other if he/she has bad relationships, the same life may become hell.

Each human being is different from the others; much of this difference can be attributed to the varied influences of relationships in a man/woman’s life. Peaceful, warm, understanding, cordial, and harmonious relationships have salubrious and wholesome influence on one’s growth and development.

All successful people whom we adore, constructive relationships helped them become great personages. Helen Keller overcame her disabilities with the power of loving relationships with her parents, Miss Sullivan, and many other great people in her life.

Similarly, if one has problematic relationships, their burden deprives one of general happiness and vitality to live a contented life. Such relationships become hindrance and burden on life. Such relationships become cause of prolonged stress and often make people chronically depressed.

So, in conclusion it can be said positive, constructive relationships have elevating influence, whereas destructive relationships have depressing effect on one’s life. So, one should nurture good relationships and weed out the bad relationships.
