How copper sulphate solution change its colour in the presence of iron?

When an iron nail immersed in the solution of copper sulphate than iron displaces copper from the solution of copper sulphate because iron is more reactive than copper. Therefore copper sulphate solution colour changes from blue to pale green.

When iron nail is placed in blue copper sulphate solution(blue in colour),

then the blue colour of the solution fades and turns to Green .

This happens because of the displacement reaction of iron and copper sulphate in which iron displaces copper from copper sulphate (as iron is more reactive than copper) and reacts with the remaining compound to form iron sulphate.(which is green in colour)

The copper is set free .

This copper is deposited on the iron nail as Brown coloured substance.
