Birth control comes in all shapes and sizes, from the incredibly high-tech to the ridiculously simple. So if you're worried about the long-term effects of taking hormones, or tired of taking a daily birth-control pill, there's always another method of birth control that's simple, cheap and effective: the Copper T. The only downside? It requires a doctor to implant it for you.

Copper-T once inserted in the uterus releases small quantity of copper ions in the uterus to avoid pregnancy. This released copper ion starts reacting with the sperms that come in preventing the eggs from being fertilised. In case the fertilisation takes place, the Copper T ensures that the fertilised egg does not implant itself to the lining of the uterus. Copper T can be used for almost 12 years with 99% successful results. Copper-T is not recommended for pregnant ladies, ladies with cervical or uterus cancer, pelvic complications or other vaginal problems.
