Corrosion : Corrosion is a reddish brown, soft, porous, flaky coating on the surface of iron articles is called corrosion or rust. It is a slow continuous oxidation process and it gradualy eats up iron due to which an iron object loses its strength.

Chemical name of Rust is Iron Oxide.

Prevention :

◆ To prevent metal corrosion on a car or truck, apply a thin coating of petroleum jelly after you clean the terminal.

◆ Choose products that are made of non-corrosive metals like stainless steel and aluminium.

◆ Coat metals with oil, paint, grease or varnish because it can prevent corrosion.
