Interesting question!

I personally believe that a society can't exist without property. Even in communist societies there will be some kind of properties, like the houses, with each person. This is natural as even animals mark their properties, which are trees, ponds etc. I recently happened to watch a video where a Crane fights another Crane as the latter has captured the former's summer retreat in Sweden.

Coming to the question. A society without property will not be a productive society. Thus it stays at the primitive level. Hunting and gathering forest produce would be the only activities in such a society as there would be no initiative to go into agriculture and produce a surplus.

It wouldn't be a socialist society as well. Strong people would be able to feed for themselves but the weak will depend endlessly on their loved ones. The only socialistic activity would be a strong person collecting two fruits or hunting two animals instead of one for the sake of the weak men of his/her tribe. This wouldn't even occur if the society is based in harsh regions like deserts, where a weak person would be seen as a liability by the tribe
