Khushwant Singh's grandmother was not pretty, physically. She was short, fat and slightly stooped in stature. Her white hair used to scatter on her wrinkled face. She chanted prayers quietly and was extremely religious. Her expressions showed that she was peaceful, serene and contented that made her look beautiful.
