  • Take every possible step to return water to the aquifer.
  • Bank groundwater that falls through groundwater recharge projects.
  • Double use ( grey water ) for necessary watering.
  • Rip out your lawn. Replant with drought tolerant species or cover with crushed gravel.
  • Replace wasteful sprinklers with drip lines or with nothing.
  • Do not buy a house with a swimming pool.
  • Install water-saving fixtures in your house.
  • Water only when needed and adjust seasonally.
