- Take every possible step to return water to the aquifer.
- Bank groundwater that falls through groundwater recharge projects.
- Double use ( grey water ) for necessary watering.
- Rip out your lawn. Replant with drought tolerant species or cover with crushed gravel.
- Replace wasteful sprinklers with drip lines or with nothing.
- Do not buy a house with a swimming pool.
- Install water-saving fixtures in your house.
- Water only when needed and adjust seasonally.
