we will take the speed of light 1lack km/hr and we will calculate the time taken by the light to go from one satellite to another satellite and coming back putting the formula of distance divided by 2

How can the speed of light and a laser beam be used to measure the distance between two satellites?

-- Install a laser on one of the satellites, and a mirror or corner reflector

on the other one.

-- Aim the laser from the first satellite toward the second one.

-- When you're ready to measure the distance between them, fire a

short pulse from the laser, and start a clock.

-- When the pulse arrives back at the source, stop the clock.

-- The distance between the two satellites is

1/2 (time accumulated on the clock) x (speed of light)

i hope it help you buddy @-@
