Though it's tiny in size, it performs all the life functions. And it's due to cells our whole body mechanism works. Cells together join to form tissues, tissues together join to form organs, and then organ system. That's how a small tiny cell works.

Answer:

See...

Many cells that perform the same function make up the tissues of our body. Now, many tissues that perform the same work makes an organ. Many organs that work together make up the Organ System and the Organ system makes up the Organism.

This is the level of organization...

Therefore, it is clear that all the functions will be performed under a cell as it is the lowest and the smallest structural part in an organism.

The functions such as Synthesis of Proteins, Generation of energy, etc all the functions necessary for the body to work are performed inside a cell...

Therefore, I can appreciate it as the smallest unit but such a unit that is only able to run the organism and it's body...

Hope it helps.
