How could you identify the unmarked poles of a magnet?

well..... the simplest process would be to suspend it in a medium(air etc.) in such a way that magnetic torque is much greater than the friction torque offered by that medium... in this way the north face of the magnet will orient itself to the magnetic south of the earth .. (known to be the geographic north pole of the earth )>

Hey mate

U can do it by taking a magnet whoes poles are marked . Now take the North Pole of the magnet and bring it near one end of unmarked magnet . If it repel it is north pole of the magnet and other one is South Pole and vice versa.This is because like pole repels and unlike pole attracts each other .
