When in a closed circuit potential difference is created by the battery current as electrons flow from the negative terminal to the positive terminal of the battery .

the particles that carry charges through wires in circuit are mobile electrons and positive test charges r pushed ,thus these negatively charged electrons move in the direction opposite the electric field .through these the electrons flow in circuit
